Currie could move into the centre but we are not over blessed with replacement second row if that happened. If Dudson or any other forward is only going to play a bit part in the game we may as well have the extra flexibility of Ratchford who is quite capable of playing in the forwards.
Powell can also play in the backs, so with Currie as you mentioned we should have enough versatility to cover an injury in the backs in a game if they are both in the 17 man squad.
Ratchford would be OK playing as a makeshift forward in a dominant pack. We don`t have one currently, and playing him there in my opinion makes the pack even weaker.

Powell can play half back/hooker/loose forward. So if you lost a three quarter (and you don't select Ratchford) you are moving Currie into the Centre position. I suppose you would then move Harrison to SR but ??? If you can't overpower opposition with 9 forwards I reckon having your 10th best forward subbing won't make much difference. I'd also argue that Ratchford would probably be more useful in most games than say Dudson or Holroyd.

Really can`t give you an argument about Dudson. His signing has been a fiasco, and McNamara knew what he was doing when he released him with Drinkwater and Kasiano.
We had the worst two centres in Super League last season.

A terrible trio and we’ve lost the only one who had a modicum of effectiveness/ability. I hope Sam stays for more than 2 seasons as I can’t see he him signing such utter dross.
