Really happy with Walker though. I can see why Burgess thinks he can get the best out of him. I fully expected him to be outshone by D Clark against a weak London side, but the stats suggest otherwise.
When we have the ball Dudson lingers deep 2 or 3 out from the dummy half position so he looks involved but never in any danger of making a carry. He also likes be be 2nd or 3rd man in defending to boost his tackle stats.
Walker had a huge defensive stint against Catalan. 49 tackles is an incredible work load.

No thanks.
With regards to Bullock, Burgess might just want him to get another game in with Widnes to up his fitness etc before considering him for the first team?

I'd put a bet on 38 of Ben curries so called 39 tackles were being the third man in.

If the deadwood of the playing group can’t put a decent shift in against this very depleted Hull team.. then surely Burgess would have pull the trigger on them and give some of younger players a run out

In his pre-season interviews, Dudson was saying how last year was a bad one for him because of off-field issues, but he was looking forward to a much better year in 2024. Round One was not a great start for him though, and we simply can't afford to keep carrying him. If he plays against Hull, it's surely 'last chance saloon' time?

I'd like to think Burgess will be this ruthless with dead wood like Dudson and Drinkwater but I won't believe it til I see it.

Burgess’ NRL coaching career and future hinges A LOT on his performance at Wire. I don’t think he’s going to be taking any prisoners regarding anyone getting in the way of any success.
