It seems to be about the insurance side of it as well as players welfare. Could it be implemented, and approved that players sign a disclaimer, and waive all indemnification?
Personally I think insurance is just an excuse , this has never really been a problem in history until it was presented as one , promoting ex players with neurological problems when these diagnosis don't have any link to head injuries . Yet there is no real mention of this in UFC /Boxing etc where head contact is very real and prolonged . Yes head injuries are possible in rugby but they are also possible in most occupations . Then there is the 20 million dead over the last 3-4 years due to unnecessary coerced and useless medical interventions and no one speaks about it . Lots of players collapsing on pitches in all sports ( also with neurological damage )
Players should strike because if you take this to the extreme , rugby will be deemed as too dangerous and its just safer to stay home and play it virtually in your VR headset . This is the pussyfication of a real hard men's sport .
