We’d have got pumped with our first team to be fair
Said last night after sat watching again with head in hands in disbelief at what I was seeing that I fear we will replicate that of Wakefield last year.
Any slight optimism of chink of hope I harboured for this season was rapidly dispatched before halftime.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

It's his team now and he needs to be given time to sort out the mess we've had to endure for years. Even in the unlikely event he is sacked I cannot think of anyone else to replace him so early in the season.
The biggest problem for me is the quality of the squad. Without doubt it's the weakest we have for years. Just about all of the new signings are cast offs. Yes, you can say Smith is partly responsible for recruitment but his hands are tied behind his back due to financial constraints.
All I'm asking for is a steady improvement but if Smith cannot achieve that then yes he has to go but only at the end of the season. God knows who will replace him.
I hope we stick with Smith until he has totally revamped our squad. Sacking him before the end of the season would be counter productive in my opinion. The only national Managers I would replace Smith , is Wane, McNamara or Rowley, I wouldn't trust the hierarchy to srlect another unproven Manager from the NRL.

London at home in two weeks with potential suspensions and injuries, I’m not even confident about that.

Interchange: Will Gardiner, Zach Jebson, Denive Balmforth, Matty Laidlaw
It would be typical of Hull to sign a New Zealand international hooker but have him as our fourth or fifth choice in that position.

Just wish the club would be honest, explain there thought process that this is a 3/4 year rebuild. We all know that we won't win anything for the next few years, I just want to know there is a long term plan in place.
No better coach to do a rebuild, he manged it at Hudds, Leeds, Warrington and started it at Rovers.

Agree, but in sport patience is in short supply. If we haven't made any improvement however marginal he will have to go. In fact I suspect he will fall on his sword rather than wait for the inevitable.

Can't believe one match in and some are saying Smith job could be in danger. Yes last year was crap and certainly not the result we wanted. But he said from day 1 it's gonna be a long job. Jeez some would have us change the coach every 6 months. Madness
