I think that's the point, hardly played at 6 and when he did towards the end of the season, it was behind a terrible pack.
It might not work out at 6, but whilst Trueman is out its our best option.

I've blanked out most of last seasons games so couldn't remember whether Hoy had actually played well at 6 or people were just wanting him there because we've no other option until smith / Trueman are fit again

As someone who has gone home and away for 20+ years barely missing a game. I don’t think I’ve ever being less bothered about a season starting, becoming more of a chore than an enjoyment.
