With regard to playing York, we all know this march will be not bee easy, I do expect we can win but our players must play as though are playing a SL team. York will raise their game against us & so will every team we play in the championship ?
We will only win if we play full on for 80 minutes ! This is something Wakey does not do !
So here's hoping there is no casual play resulting in a loss & embarrassing.
Come on Trin.

Lino and Gale will play barring any hiccups in warm up . Saw enough against a decent Wigan pack to feel confident that we should boss the exchanges up front , and our back line then should have some wiggle room to do the business . Won’t be a classic as both teams are still very early into the season and will be finding their respective feet especially us , but as that Wigan game went on are backs looked more and more comfortable and confident with ball in hand , and our defence was rock solid for the most

Lino and Gale if they get the nod need to hit the ground running and create some try’s otherwise Lawford who’s gone well could be finding himself in a starting spot.

I don’t really like the idea of two halfbacks coming in for the first games of season in what will be a tough one but I trust Powell to go with what’s best.

York are dark horses this season.

I'd happily start Lawford

As would I, probably with Lino. Lawford has really impressed me this pre season. He will not get better with games. Got a bit of Mikey Lewis about him.

How about giving them a chance first???
This is 2024 with a new team and a quality coach and new staff especially if our friendly v the pies is anything to go by.......
We're not still in 2023...........

We're all Trin aren't we?

Agree, this is a new team and clean slate for players and club to build something. This is the new Wakefield Trinity.

Lawford has time in his hands to develop into an outstanding half under the guidance of Powell and Gale , but the sands of time are quickly disappearing for Gale , which I suspect will be his last season playing for us especially if we get a super league birth next season , so we need our monies worth out of him ,and that’s why him and Lino will form a formidable partnership in the championship, whilst Lawaford continues to learn the game

Will be interesting to see how many penalties are given under the new tackling rules. Mikalauskas can be very pedantic at the best of times
