Whether he comes or not there is a thread showing here following on from the interest previously shown in signing Sailor. The club are clearly looking for an overseas utility back to cover full back and wing positions.

I’m lost with the Quota spot places but should he come in would we need to release one of our forwards - assuming l Ricky and Lam and Moylan are nailed on

LC, its Big Ben whose most at risk of being released. His position has been discussed at length on these threads. Most of us here on this forum like the player but the fact remains that he is not a starting prop - worryingly for an overseas quota player - and he does not do big minutes in a game. For an overseas player he is a bit of a luxury.

If the club are going to aim big then the days of the journeymen overseas players are over and unfortunately there is a bit of the journeyman about Big Ben.

If the club are going to splash the cash on an overseas player then surely they have to be players in the starting 13.

If its not Big Ben then I am interested to hear who else from the quota players that anyone here thinks is at risk of being released.

I would be amazed if it was anyone else other than Ben JG.

Under the new quota ruling we can add another overseas player to the squad without releasing anybody aslong as they are under the age of 25 and have played a percentage of reserve grade (or above) games. Basically we could add Armstrong to the squad now and not need to lose anybody, although I still think we will release Nakabuwai

Mate I know you're a lobby follower and therefore a bit thick but as posted above that is totally incorrect.
I have a good friend called Ste, who is also a follower of your small time club, that had to be corrected on this point as well.

You still need to have available quota spaces, it just opens up a new talent pool for super league clubs to look at.
