Ratchford and Thewlis don't seem too bad, Tai and Nicholson seem longer term - Nicholson especially is a disappointing one but we have Crowther to come in at 13 and the pre season games will see who gets to step up to the bench from Dudson, Bullock, Whitehead & Green.

Bit disappointed with this news, it’s took the shine off tomorrow’s game a bit for me, then again announcing the team so far back you could not expect it to not change. Ratchford club captain, saying it like that does not mean he will play all the time if at all.
It's only really Nicholson that's a huge blow, but we've got enough cover. Thewlis is expected to be okay. Shame Tai won't get to push for a place yet of course.
Ratchford conformed as club captain, but I suspect Williams will be directing things. Not surprised about Walker, even if Burgess is. You can see his passion and drive on the pitch, and hopefully his technical performance is consistent enough for him to keep his place.

What a shock...all the big names that were used to lure fans into buying tickets for the friendly against the Demics are out injured. Shocked I am ...shocked. Can't remember the club stooping this low to con fans out of their hard earned cash. Doesn't reflect well on the club at all IMO.
I don't think this was intentional, but yes it's frustrating. The worst aspect for me is that we will probably see a disjoined performance that will deteriorate further when the bench players come on.

It's a pre-season run-out though, and I suspect the few big names would be off by half time before they'd even had a big influence on the outcome. It's mainly disappointing for the reason that we won't get to see what Tai can do. But it's a chance for Bruines and Lindop to stake a claim. Not sure who will line up at Stand Off.

Bruines isn`t in the squad and it looks like he will now be playing in the Leigh game next week.
He couldn`t get near anywhere near a 1st team gig with St Helens last season but he is young so let`s see how he goes here.
I will need to see play a few games for us to assess his potential.
