There's not actually anything new in there. All his interviews so far have been quite similar.

question for you. With our ground locked into an agreement that it can't be sold is everybody's shares including Ellis worthless or is there a value to selling the club without the ground. I know he plans to invest massively but if he pumped millions in and developed the ground he couldn't exactly take the stands with him if he went.

Not sure why you are asking me but I'd like to see the details of that agreement you say we are locked into.

There is little value in RL clubs anyway, anything he invests will be lost other than the value of gratification in seeing th club he supports do well. A developed stadium increases the chance of success of the club.

Not sure why we'd want to sell the ground either now that redevelopment has started

I'm not asking for any particular reason, just interested. I think I'm right in saying that when we bought the ground back an agreement was put in place where the ground must remain wakefields home and can't be built on and sold for this reason

yes I totally agree with that, so if for example if he pumped 10 million it would be like a donation which wouldn't increase the value of the club cause the ground and land can't be sold

An improved stadium does in theory does increase the value of a club, in that it boosts revenue generation, either by spectator comfort, conference facilities, renting the ground. Whether that is realised in reality may be a different matter, more so in RL.

I don't think he's in it to increase value of the club, where as you would find that in football (LFC for example).

I think I'm right in saying that's the first time anyone has said that.

Are you mixing up with the SportEngland covenant that says sports grounds can't be sold for e.g. housing/development, unless the purchaser replaces that sports facility provision?

Trinity (Elllis), owns the freehold of the land, as well as the structures on it.

I've done quite a bit of digging this morning and come up with this.
The club which were run by mc and jm at the time bought the freehold to bv including the car park for 3.1 million with the help of the council who loaned us the money. The loan was not paid back as the stand is just finished so Ellis took control of all of the freehold and all that goes with it.
However even if he owns the ground he can only sell with the councils permission as a covenant on the deeds stipulate that. Also he could only sell it to someone who will continue to use it as a sports stadium, sport England can also prevent a sale unless another facility is built nearby. The stadium is safe and he could only sell to someone who would continue to operate the club.
The car park could technically be built on but only if it is some benefit to the club.
I think Ellis as great plans for our club and we're in safe hands
