For any of you that don't follow my X/Twitter account I posted yesterday about Gil Dudson very much impressing SB in pre -season. So his planned dual-reg move to Widnes has been temporarily paused. As has Hayes who's seen as Drinkwater's cover who's picked up an injury. So has Fitzgibbon, although I'm not sure how serious they both are. Not sure if either are public knowledge yet ?
Dudson on form is a decent hard grafting prop, so last year was very disappointing and his head clearly wasn't on straight.
People were saying last year he punched Johnstone because he slept with his wife. So he's moved to a new Club, more than likely split up with his wife, and had bans and was more than likely in a very bad head space.
I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt for this year. The end of season break, last year of his contract and new coach he's likely looking to impress could have put him on the right path.
He's not a world beater but at his best he's a good solid club prop, if we get him on form this year i'll be happy with that for our prop rotation.
Same with Bullock, get him on form he's a very handy prop, with Vaughan, Musgrove and Philbin in that rotation we're looking good. Harrison is decent cover at prop but i don't think he's suited to prop, and think he's a bit overhyped to be honest in the prop role.
I would have liked a fit Kasiano in the squad also but can't have everything i suppose.
