Saints fans want us to bow down to Jack Welsby and their 4 in a row (can’t believe they are still counting the 2 covid ones).
Meanwhile on Redvee they are hoping we get battered and all our best players do their ACLs.

I never would support saints even against the Aussies but Saint winning in Penrith is definitely a big achievement. The Aussies played it down. It would be good to get the win over them in Feb and I’m sure the same excuses would be thrown around. It was a reserve squad no match fitness all that crap. If we loose so be it but hopefully if we win it, it being 2 on the bounce to SL puts some credibility into the world club challenge for the Aussies.

Interesting to see how people view the WCC and also how they think we/SL clubs should be treated by the Aussies. For me and ,as much as I love the club, we aren't (literally) in the same league as most NRL sides & certainly not the top ones. The Aussies look down on us, because that's where we are as a league. People will talk it up, but outside a handful of games - it's dire imo.
I'd liken the NRL's thinking to the recent World Club Footy thing. I'm a neutral when it comes to football and I'm also away for Xmas, so wasn't able to watch the game. Trying to find the score this morning on the Sky Sports app wasn't easy. On top of that, how much talk has there been in the build up? I've seen mentions to it, but nothing on the scale of a proper big game. Why? Because we all know the southern hemisphere teams aren't on the level of those in UEFA. The odd result might say different, but we all know the CL champs are levels above 9/10.

I wanted Saints to lose before the game but with all the crap they were getting from the Oz media I was made up when they won. I think we've all on to beat them and IMO it'll be as good as the Brisbane win if we manage it.

I thought that the Saints win was fantastic for them particularly after Penrith clawed their way back into the game. Aussies are and always have been poor losers. Always a ready made excuse if they ever lose. The record books won’t give reasons why a team lost or won, won’t speculate if so and so had played the result would have been. It”ll just say Saints beat Penrith. Probably the best ever result in the history of the St Helens club. I say all that as a Wigan fan who jumped out of his seat when Penrith scored late on to take the game to golden point.
I think that we will have to be at our very best to even get close in February. A good wupping wouldn’t surprise me nor would a well executed plan on our part to give us a sniff of a victory. Can’t wait for the game which hopefully will be a sell out.

Lmao.
This right here is the most embarassing post I’ve ever seen. From someone who still dines out on his clubs success from 30 years ago when they were the only professional club. Funny how when everyone else went professional Wigan were left behind.
Anyway, I want to know why the Covid years don’t count. Come on tell me, this is going to be utterly hilarious

Two factually wrong statements in two sentences. Poor effort Steph. Hope Santa brings you a girlfriend. Christ, you need one. Even if you have to pump her up first.

This 'only professional club' myth is tiresome. Anyone would think this spanned a decade and not weeks/months (never mind the fact that Leeds went fully pro just before us and Saints just after us).
