Speaking to a Wakefield season ticket holder who also did some coaching in his day at Stanley. I asked about Kershaw and he thought he had already signed. He thought Kershaw was unlucky not to get a new contract at Wakefield. But went on to say that his one big weakness is bringing the ball out of the 25 and tends to lose the ball on impact. He also added that if they could coach that occasional lack of ball retention out of him he has the strength and pace to bag a try or three.

Cheers. There hasn't been much pre-season content this year. I wonder if its Rohan taking it more seriously

We should have those props in the form of oledszki, Holroyd and to a lesser extent Goudemand. What we need is an incoming that either adds a point of difference or that is a real pack leader. I've real hopes with Hudson though who could be a great pick up.

Think the club are playing their cards really close at the moment. There are aren't a lot of English players who would make a difference available, and if there were there would be other clubs interested. Suspect the "one in one out" line is partly a way of convincing players who may be surplus to requirements, but still at the club, that their future really does lie elsewhere. Still think we'll see Kershaw in and Olpherts out by the time the season starts, and also share your hopes for Hudson. What a difference it would make if he proves to be a genuine first teamer.

Hudson is definitely a project, he’s a big mobile lad but never played a game of SL as far as I know. Also coming off a bad Achilles injury. Very risky but hopefully we’ll see him in a few games this year.
We may need one more season to sort the squad out fully. We just have to be better than last year though looking at our roster.
Anyone’s guess how the NRL imports go; I’m interested to see what happens with O’Connor and Johnson next year, and Goudemand could be handy. Would love to see Simpson get some game time too the lad has potential.
