Thinking of heading over to catalan for the first game of the season with my nephew.
Anyone any advice on best places to fly to or best place to base, thinking of heading over on Thursday and coming back Sunday. Where will most of the fans stay, fly to?

Been looking myself but looks like there’s no flights direct to Perpignan in February, looking at flights to Barcelona and a 1 hour 15 minute train ride to Perpignan. Done this before , plenty of hotels in Perpignan at a decent price and used to be a free bus to the ground with a valid match ticket, Hope this helps

Ryanair do a return flight from Manchester to Carcassonne, outbound 17 Feb, return 19 Feb for £172. You get into Carcassonne at 1 and there is a train to Perpignan at 2.22. Train from Carcassonne to Perpignan takes about 1 hour 25 mins. It's cutting it fine but worth considering if you run out of options.

That's the route we usually take, however we hire a car at Carcassone airport. The drive is about an hour. We try to stay at the Ibis Central in Perpignan itself, which has its own car park. Tend not to use the car whilst we are there, as everything is close by. (Been 11 times).

Tried that one time and the train didn’t arrive due to some problem on the line, ended up sharing a taxi with 2 other guys, was not cheap lol.
