5,000 was a suitable target if the club is to be more sustainable. The issue is the failure to do anything much to achieve it. Since we've been at Cherry Red the focus seems to have been on upselling existing fans to padded seats. We should see more away fans next season but we need to build the home fan base and that effort should have started already off the back of the publicity for gaining promotion.

Buzza you’re forgetting the one visit to Wimbledon shopping Mall by Buck and Dusty. Rumours suggest this will be repeated and, yes AND, also a visit to KFC Tooting to hand out flyers. What more can they do?

Ahh the Gold Lounge. Not enough spoken about it in my opinion.

Realistically it will also take a new outside investor to maybe cover marquee player wages etc over the next 5 years. Let's face it. With the clubs refusal to announce all figures for rh last few seasons, only Loubser knows how close we came to making ANY progress towards Hughes plucked from the sky figure of 5,000 by now. As for the players we have retained/signed. Is there any danger of us getting a few if one or some or them catch they eye of SL clubs or will we just hand them over gratis as per the norm?
I saw Sheffield advertising the position of full time social media/content manager last week. Seems like people are getting a sense of which way the wind is blowing. I think you are right on the investor side, whether be an individual or consortium. Hopefully next season drives some interest.
Not sure on the transfer side of things. I would imagine if they are full time with a contract for more than one season, a fee would have to be paid. In reality who would likely be signed? I could see a SL outfit being interested in Bill and Oli if they perform well next season, but for a lot of our squad they have already been there, done that and ended up back with us. Maybe we'll end up with someone like Luke Yates who comes across and gets snapped up after a season.

Reading through that thread, the really sad thing is the variety of people posting: the vast majority of whom haven't posted for years. Mad-keen, hardcore supporters seemingly lost.
Still, what do I care, BT suggests there may be a new bobble hat!

It will be interesting to see how he goes, given we will most likely be a championship side in 2024 and he'll be off somewhere else afterwards. If Eccles can motivate players to give their all, then we may surprise a few next year and personally, if we are earmarked for the 2nd tier, I genuinely hope we don't finish bottom, just so as to make IMG a tad more uncomfortable.

Happy with today’s recruitment. Ulberg to TO is not a major surprise - wish him well, except for that walking out of bounds instead of scoring antic early doors last season he’s done well.
