Yes it does, you would imagine worse case he would miss the first 3/4 games. Allows to have Brown at hooker, just really hope they give Balmforth a chance next year, he might not be good enough or make it but it would be good to see what he can do, particularly early on, as it helps recruitment.

I’m hoping we have a good first few fixtures, playing likes of London & Cas would mean we don’t need to try rush players back. They are on paper weakest squads in league. Either that or play Wigan early as they’ll steamroll most teams next year.
I’m hoping we see 3-4 friendlies this year. Big squad, let the fringes play big minutes and key players can be drip fed in. Rather than 2-3 friendlies with senior players only getting about 60 minutes across them

Agree on the pre season games Think Smith got it wrong last season and also the pre season training trying to build fitness as the season goes clearly didnt work whilst the high intensity pre season training at HKR was evident to see especially in defence.
if were honest we don't know what we`re going to get this coming season. Im never sure wholesale changes (that's what it feels like) are good but it was necessary and unavoidable. I would say that there is plenty to be positive about- youth, big boppers year on of TS etc. I think some have pessimistic defaults - maybe they are like that in life?. I don't think we`ll be as bad as last season and yet Smith will not get what he really wants from our performances until 2025. as I say none of us know but I can't wait for February
Club usually churns out preseason content but so far seem to be very quiet this time round.
These next few weeks are the most important part of our season. Time for players like Tex, Brown (when he comes) and smith to get used to playing as a 6/7 in our systems.
Preseason will make a huge impact on how you perform in a position. Developing the Timing etc of a different position mid season is a different beast than running the systems 5 days a week for 3 months.
You can’t write off how Smith, tex or brown will perform.
Lane & Carlos could have worldie seasons, we just don’t know. It’s on to them to put the graft in on the paddock
We saw how griffin 2022 to 2023 form differed from having a good preseason
Chance for a few young guns to develop and stake their claim.
Pre season is more exciting that who we were going to sign for 2024 as this is what matters

Think the players were more the issue rather than training
Ellis got blamed for defence but you can't coach average players if they haven't got it
