England Secure Series Whitewash Over Tonga With England already having the series win under their belts, Headingley was the venue where they would seek to turn the screw, and deepen the pain, by making it a series whitewash against a Tongan side who arrived on our shores full of hope that they might cause an upset.
Shaun Wane had controversially swapped man of the series Mikey Lewis for returning skipper George Williams, the Hull KR man not included in the eighteen with additional changes seeing Currie in for the injured King and Mulhern for Radley.
Tonga also made a number of changes, the most notable being the return of St Helens star Konrad Hurrell to bolster the centres.
England were still favourites for the win, but never underestimate the pride and passion of a south pacific islander.

England have no hope of improving by playing 3 tests against a half hearted Tongan team. What a shame there is no other local competitive nation…. Would have preferred all stars team again….
Every time we win a game against a Southern hemisphere team at club level or international level, why do we always make excuses for how they lost, instead of giving ourselves credit? So many always say we'll get smashed by these teams, but apart from Australia, our record at international level over the last decade has been excellent.

This wasn’t a proper test for 3 games I’m afraid. Nothing more RL can do , but compare to pacific series. Completely different gravy. But we have no local competitor….
Looked like Newman was told just to do the basics i.e. not race out in defence and not hunt the ball as much in attack. Was good to see him being reliable, solid and assisting in a couple of tries. This is how he needs to be for Leeds.
Be interesting whether Hurrell gets a ban or if it's ignored because it is now offseason.
It'll be ignored. Not sure of the rules but Hurrells hit on his own man was reckless and contact to the head. Could Kendall have taken action or does the hit have to be on an opponent?

I think even St Helens fans have accepted that their claims to have changed him were total BS. He's the same player he always has been - that's not totally negative but he comes with lots of downsides.
Let all the doubters keep doubting and those who believe keep believing.

Im amazed they’ve resigned him for next year, was left out of the team due to being unfit. They were able to carry his faults for a bit but I don’t think they can anymore.
Toby King being rumoured to go to Saints, along with Sam Kasisno

Saints have been lacking in the comedy department for a few years now. They must be after extra IMG points or summat
