I fear the Superleague clubs will split taking the TV money leaving the RFL with no funding and only the community game or what little of that is left to oversee. Just cannot see how the other clubs can survive without a meaningful competition. No wonder they trying to sell the tip in Bradford.

Cheers, hadn't seen that. Talk about Turkey's voting for Christmas. That statement, to me, just shows the present board have absolutely no ambition whatsoever.

Well at that provisional stage they did mention voting the way they did was in their opinion better than voting against it whilst acknowledging others may disagree but respected their opinion which we have been free to express.
I suppose if we were the owners / shareholders / directors the final decision would be ours to make?
On the other hand since I’m not any of the above whether I support the club for where and for what they are instead of for what they aren’t would be the decision I have to make.
Well they have responded in good time and sounds positive to me and now we know the provisional grade starting numbers we have someting to gauge future progress / realisation of ambitions on.

Does sound very positive without giving any detail other than the target score. At this stage absolutely fine with this as long more information on the clubs plans is forthcoming over the next few weeks. In spite of all the IMG tripe most supporters will still measure the determination of the board to move forward on quality of squad we assemble for next year.
It's hard to say too much about that statement as its the reality we are in and if we can only improve our score by about a point in the space of 12 months that leaves us at least 2 points off the worst of the teams that have a realistic shot at SL and just says how far we are off really. Its hard to feel optimistic about any of this from a club perspective as this season just gone was our best and likely last chance of getting in to SL that we will see in a long time. Again it would be nice to see a full break down of the scoring to at least know where we are marked down. For all we know it maybe nearly impossible for us to get to the 13 points that it is looking like is needed to make SL. My guess would be that the system is scrapped after 2 or 3 seasons like all things RL.
Again strike me down for been negative but we are restricted in some areas as to how many points we can score so for us making up over 3 points is going to be ridiculously hard if not impossible.

Still a tough challenge and equates to more like a middle distance run rather than a sprint and with not knowing what others will do 10.5 as it stands moves up just a couple of places but at least the intent is there and they haven’t thrown the towel in and it does say there will further statements to follow soon.

RFL won't be able to wrestle the votes off the SL clubs as easily as they have the Championship clubs and there is no way they would vote for a reduction in their funding.
While that's favourite they could (and no doubt would) appropriate the CF meant for Champ and L1 to claw some of it back should they expand. However, the statement still reads that expansion will only be when they reach 12 grade As but they think that might come earlier, although I'd very much doubt it.

Yeah 7 A grades was a surprise to everyone even the most "reliable" journo's got that one wrong and there was some huriedly deleted posts. That said a lot of the next ones up are basket cases in some of the areas and its hard to see many more making the jump to A grade although I have seen mentioned in a couple of places that Wakey could get there by the time the next gradings are done which seems ridiculous that they have been allowed to just get by year after year and then would be saved like this.
