The user experience of RLfans for the last 6 month has been very poor for me, and in turn reduces my input and reading of the topics.

I use the iOS mobile version, and the countless number of active video pop ups advertisements is unbearable and slowing my phone.
It’s not just one advert though, it’s over and over of different videos.

I literally didn’t enter a few UR/Wire Yed comp posts because I just couldn’t be bothered to keep clicking off the videos to copy and post.

I get why there are ads of a free to use site, but previously it was just the odd banners, but never stacked running videos.

Sorry to moan, but I seriously have gotten to the point I don’t look a topics and certain don’t reply if I do, unless it’s one a really do want to get involved with.

I'd like to be able to assist but must report that I'm technically inept in such matters and enduring the same distractions. So if someone on here could advise which adblocker switch to twitch I too would be grateful.

I think Admin considered asking users to pay approx. 18 months ago in order to cover for eg server costs. Instead they seem to have rejigged the site and took on more advertising. I can certainly sympathise with the distraction of the adverts. In fact I can't bear to use the site with my iPad now and I shudder to think of what it must be like on a smart phone. But I suspect that the adverts and in particular the videos are here to stay, simply because if the adverts are blocked the sponsors will pay less.

At the end of the day the site is free to use and we will probably have to pay a subscription to make it less distracting / obscured by advertising.

I use my iPad the most and use an adblocker called umbra I get no pop up videos it’s a free adblocker. I’m not sure if this works with other devices and I use safari. Infact I get no advertising at all. Also works on my iPhone.

Quite strange really. The ads are on the edges of the page & I hardly notice them. Must be annoying though if you can't switch off from them. They are definitely linked to what you have been looking at recently.

Think it’s more about the pop up videos, only so many time you can look at Wilkin I guess.

Yes, it's that Sky Sports pop-up video that's the really annoying one. Do Sky Sports really need to advertise their RL coverage on RL Fans? I would have thought that was the very definition of preaching to the converted.

The blocker I use stops it popping up.

I use Safari on a Mac Studio and an iPhone. Never had any pop-ups with Apple equipment. It's a bit heavy on the pocket of course.

ABP Adblock plus is what I use on safari on my iPad , never had any pop ups since.
