Had the lowest viewing figures of any grand final ever. it was an absolute snooze fest and light years behind the skill and excitement of the rugby World Cup quarter finals.

I was expecting big hits at the start then fast PTB's to open up the game. Never got tha,t pretty much around 70 mins of "wrestle rugby", watched the England v Fiji game excluding the scrums that game was much better.
The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you. Welsby-Dodd-Simms-Eaves-Rizzelli, not Eastmond...the future is coming.
I think you need to move it away from old Trafford, teams have to adapt their attacking style, you can't safely put grubber kicks through on the 5tth as players risk breaking their necks sliding down that slope, so the only way to score tries is through running it and looking for gaps in defences, just turns grand finals into defensive wars of attrition

This is what I agree with. Wigan and Warrington have mastered the art of having a player run 30 meters to flop as 3rd man even though the tackle is complete. It makes the game boring which is why Warrington and Wigan viewing figures are so poor
Unfortunately some grand finals are slog fests, just the way it is. Remember 04 and 05 Leeds Bulls grand finals, both snooze fests for neutral.
In terms of viewing figures, it goes back to what I’ve been rabbiting on about for ages, the game has gone stale because the same teams win relentlessly and everyone already knows the outcome before the event.
Next season? Saints or Wigan will win it. There, piece of mickey, I predicted the future.
