Seems that there are only six or seven teams including ourselves capable of or wanting to produce a decent reserve side so it would be beneficial to both the S/L clubs and to the RFL as it gives then a lot more time to think about what to do with Div 1 I am certain that S/L clubs who opted for this could fulfill the scheduled so called reserve fixtures with academy players given the games this season seemed to be every two weeks or even cancelled.
Great idea that tbf. Should be mandatory for SL teams to fulfill a reserve team schedule or find something else that works for those willing to put the effort into a reserve grade. Think a lot of NRL have gone down the path of having their own team in NSW cup now.

Makes a lot if sense this.
Probably too much sense for the powers that be at the RFL though.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

For all that Bonaire cops for a lot of flak (some deserved) he's come up with an excellent suggestion. The only downside is that those at RFL headquarters don't have any idea of how to organise the proverbial p*ss up in a brewery so probably doomed to die at birth.

Yeah inevitably it'll be a league 1 specific cup competition to disguise them having to play each other 4 times a season
