They are in their second SL grand final in two years and won the CC in 2018.

What have we achieved since 2017?

Parochial doesn't do your comment justice.

Catlalans are the one expansion team the RFL has got right.

(Dodgy cameraman aside), a full Gilbert Brutus on Friday, combined with the greeting for the players as they entered the stadium really did look great on TV, they don't seem to take playoffs for granted in Perpignan like a lot of clubs in England do , as the attendances is often lower than a league game as it's not included as part of a season ticket

Yes they are, but how much help with dispensations on quota places etc did it take.
Depending on who gets promoted, and at a time when attendances at the two showpiece finals are not what they could be, will fans opt for following their team to France twice, or attending as a neutral at either final? My money is on the former, and it doesn't matter how much marketing they do, fans have a finite amount to spend on the sport.
I agree with an earlier post, in that once Toulouse were promoted the first time, they should have been allowed two seasons in SL.

It appears to be irrelevant now but personally I would give every team gaining promotion to Superleague a 2 year guarantee, unless its the team who had been relegated the previous year.

Didn’t London Bronco’s get the same dispensation all those years ago at Fulham. Reg Bowden et Al? You can talk about expansionism all you like but it’s tried and tested that it’s the M62 corridor that keeps RL going. Whoever wins the £million game, it spells the death knell of a few Championship clubs aspirations for Super league because IMG’s plans take over for 2025.

Just greatful it isn't fev who are coming up.....Either of Toulouse or London will be a welcome addition and hopefully give the game a boost

Fev are probably at their limit of how big they'll grow, their stadium wasn't full for one of their most important games of the season, with a population of 13k, there is only so much the club can grow. Toulouse has a population of 500k, so they just need to get 2% of the city interested in RL to average 10k crowds

Disappointing.

Not really disappointing considering the game was also televised by SKY so they were competing for the same audience so it's to be expected the figures would be lower with them not having exclusive coverage. To be honest I didn't even realise that CH4 were televising it as well as SKY until I flicked near full time. If I'd known I'd have watched the Ch4 coverage.

That for me indicates again the poor marketing of the sport and its fixtures.

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
