York Valkyrie Crowned Womens Super League Champions In a repeat of last season's Women's Super League Grand Final the York Valkyrie faced the Leeds Rhinos hoping for a better outcome than the 12-4 defeat which they suffered for a heartbreaking end to their 2022 season.
York have dominated this season's league competition, having gone the entire season unbeaten with just a single league draw to blemish their copybook, and that draw was against the Leeds Rhinos when the sides met and scored twelve points each in mid-July.
The bookies went with home advantage and gave the Valkyrie the best chance to win the game and secure their first ever title.

I live in York and went to the game today. Really enjoyed it tbf. Great crowd and atmosphere. York were just better organised and stronger defensively. Deserved the win.
Hopefully York continue to invest in RL and the men's team can keep pushing to get in SL. My old man went to watch York for 50 years and took me in the 80's when they were in the top division.

Couldn’t agree more. York a prime candidate for what I would call ‘targeted expansion’ a place that offers more than your typical ‘heartland’ team, but also isn’t a million miles away and has a semblance of grass roots on which to draw.
I wanted to go to a York/Leeds WSL game last year and couldn't in the end, I do enjoy the women's game to be honest they hit hard but there is less over-the-top aggression. Must get to a match next year.
Have to say that rugby stadia are really mixed on transport, if I go to Headingley it's a drive really and about 40 mins each way, it's a pig to park. Hull was a dream, massive on-site car park. York has a decent car park but seems confusing on match days...

I worked on the york ground. it has 80 parking spaces as the local council are massively anti car. just park near the shops, you get 4 hours so time it right
