I do like to hear the counter argument/point.
For me he always goes through the motions, rarely hits a line (rarely, not never I'll add) and always seems to be that yard or 2 behind where he needs to be on conceded tries.
I feel we can upgrade on Currie as i don't see anything than bog standard.
I'll contradict myself and say that every coach we've had has clearly rated him so maybe it's my own failings to see what he offers.

Not sure why this is a Currie hate thread, for me he was one of our most aggressive players in the first quarter when we needed to scrap to stay in the game and had a decent game overall.

He does go through the motions sometimes, but largely thats when everyone else around him is too. I fully believe he has more enthusiasm in defence than many of the people we have on the field at any given time. Is he as aggressive as say, Walker or Clark? No. Is his line speed still above average compared to most others? Easily. He's always pressuring the full back on kicks, got good hands and usually puts Ratch in space. He can be lazy, and we can improve on him definitely. But you could say that about a good 75% of our team.

Would it be fair to summarise your view with a school analogy and say you see him as top of middle set?
Do you think he's got it in him to kick on, should the team improve or is he at his best level now?
I'm a self-confessed Currie fan, always have been because he still can and (when given the chance) still does do things not many of the modern grunt and barge backrowers can do.
However, I'll concede he has lapses these days that are unforgivable, and he is something of a luxury.
However, we have bigger issues -
Kasiano, Dudson, Drinkwater, Matautia are deadwood Ratchford is a good utility and nothing more Nicholson & Harrison remain work in progress Williams needs fewer cuddles and a few more rockets Right wing is an issue Dufty is another luxury - potent and lazy in equal measures We look like we need a new conditioner
We have signed Lachlan Fitzgibbon who plays second row (left side) for next season so who knows. This will give a bit more competition ... which is always good.

If we improve, i think his game would too. Some players, when things are going against the team, just capitulate completely. Toby King being one of those players. Currie, though there is obvious drop off, doesn't fall quite so hard. I don't think Currie is at his best, but when we're one out Rugby like clearly was the plan today, he's not going to benefit much.
