Can honestly see the game going part time in 5 years, less money coming in while cosrs increase due to inflation and the league cant survive with just 5 or so clubs having rich backers.

Really poor state of affairs where your show piece events (magic, grand final and challenge cup) are losing money

Magic turns a profit I believe, Newcastle council put some money in also. The finals seem to depend on who gets there as the game has lost the thousands of neutrals that used to go regardless. Some of that isn't RLs fault a lot of pubs and clubs who used to run trips have shut, but we don't market the events well.

For too long the sport itself & the RFL particularly have failed to sell and market the game sufficiently. It’s as though the RFL seem to think that they don’t have to or need to continually market the sport.

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

Their marketing seems to be emailing their existing fan base and that's about it, I know when a game is on and will make my own decision whether I go or not, it's new fans they need to be attracting so that big finals sell out regardless of who is playing. Namibia v Uruguay had a 49k crowd in the union world cup yesterday, we got nowhere near that for tier 2 fixtures in last year's world cup

Article with James Clark about the training ground, youth development etc on Hull Live. Nothing groundbreaking but first time ive seen him speak in a while. Definately feels lioe the club are going for a slower, more thorough approach to sorting the club out than just sign a few old Aussies and hope for the best

I think the club realised they had to change the way recruitment/retention was being done. Too many over the hill signings made in recent years alongside some dubious re-signings on long term deals which just haven't worked out, culminating in the club having to waste money paying players off

We haven't yet seen whether TS signings will be an improvement (Cliff was great but obviously no longer with us) but you have to hope with his experience he will bring in not only better players, but better people to the club

Well at last we get an update from the club with some interesting stuff in there ! I still think selling seasons will be a hard job this year and doing that appears critical again. One more player to come in which is possibly the most significant one on that front.

A decent synopsis and fairly upbeat considering current circumstances.
Challenging times as we are all aware.
Gaz, a champion bloke and will go down in our club history.
16/17 to be savoured as I've often intimated before on here. It can be a long time between drinks as the realists on here know.
Upbeat about the kids coming through and new sponsors on board.
Open to new investment when and if the opportunity arises.
Lease negotiations in the forefront of his mind and sounds like a new sexy relationship with the SMC.
I is off down for two slices of toast.
Lurpak spreadable topped with some strawberry jam.

Doesn’t sound like a n owner whose about to declare himself bankrupt. Even states no one will invest until the Stadium lease is renewed and the club debt is all down to him to repay. Glad we have him, can’t see anyone else who would have had the fortitude to have kept us going this long, never mind funding another rebuild
