The contingency plan was to have replica shields at all three venues. These shields exist and are used for publicity events, so why wouldn't they use them here?
Sky even sent cameras and crews to every stadium to cover the action. Why is this the only week they have done it? To ensure they can film the presentation of the LL Shield to whoever won it, that's why.
Sky have literally no control over who wins games. It's not scripted like the WWE. What would have happened if Leigh genuinely beat the Wigan defense and scored more tries? What if Wigan failed to score a point? You are talking absolute rubbish.
If Sky really were in control of the outcome of the games, wouldn't they want Leeds to progress to the playoffs? Afterall it is proven that Leeds games draw the biggest TV audience, and that would suit the Sky advertisers better.
There are way too many holes in your conspiracy theory for it to make a modicum of sense.
Brilliant post, and if a grown man who has children and runs successful businesses can’t see that then he’s got issues.
He’s absolutely deluded.

Why on earth would SKY want that Leeds rabble to progress. That's the worst Leeds team I've seen in decades. It's a good job IMG have saved you from relegation cos that's what you would have been facing next season

What other sport would have a ref taking charge of season defining game in which the game he's officiating in includes the Town he was born in? Impartial or not it makes a mockery of the game when you realise the trophy, the dignitaries and the Champions boarding are all there with no contingency plan to move them just in case Wiggin lose. Oh, but the ref from Wiggin disallows a perfectly good Leigh try. Wiggin were never going to be denied that night. The game was rigged! It stinks. DB has the guts to tell them. Good on him. And he's serious about setting up a rival competition. As he said, 3 years from now there will be a different league that will rival SL and the derisory £20million that SKY offer. And it won't have the woke MRP.
Rigged by who?
For what purpose?
Why not let Field score his try then as many arguments can be made that his was also a try and not obstruction...

I gave the reason why. But incase you missed that part, it is because televised Leeds games are proven to attract larger TV audience than every other club. If Sky really controlled the league, they wouldn't have clubs with tiny fanbases in the playoffs - Leigh wouldn't be there at all. The fact that they are proves it isn't scripted by Sky.

It is the worse Leeds team in decades, I can't deny that. I don't think we need IMG to save us though. We are making some good signings for next season already, and we have the money, the structure, and the fanbase to survive relegation. In fact, a championship tour might be a nice break from the 27 years of Super League, but it won't happen. Our squad will be much stronger next year.

To think one wrong decision by the ref was responsible for Leigh finishing fifth is bordering on paranoia. The league position is determined over 27 matches and questionable decisions occurred in every one of them. All teams have suffered and can point to possible points lost. As it was only points difference between fourth and fifth it is clear that it was the poor performances after the cup final by the Leigh players as individuals and as a team that was responsible for the downfall. A clear example is that KR in the last game put more than 50 against Wakey away from home. In contrast a very poor Leigh performance only managed to scape past the same team by a drop goal on their own patch. If the Leigh players had stood up to be counted when the chips were down their last match would not have mattered win or lose. Despite what Beaumont said in his most un-chaiman like rant it was the Leigh players and coach that have to take full responsibility. Not a referee used as a scapegoat.

Where would you expect the LLS and the rest be - parked in a lay-by on the East Lancs half way between here and saints or Salford- as said on this thread a replica would have been at both grounds
Unless your the actual Derek your making yourself look as silly as him

If I've made myself look silly, I'm way behind you on that score.
