We aspire to mediocrity.

Sadly, the game in Yorkshire has fallen way behind the game over the hills. Saints and Wigan are much better organised and can attract better quality talent. And they're much better at picking up and developing promising young players. If Wigan or Saints want Newman next year, he will be gone. Simple as that. Leigh and Salford well ahead of the Yorkshire teams at the moment as well. The only bright spot is HKR, who have actually competed. Other than that, desperately poor.

Don’t necessarily agree with that. One good off season now and we could be right back in the mix. Hudds and Hull have the potential to be a lot better too.

Churchillian speeches not your strong point then? Try and cheer up mate. I don't know if you make it to any Rhinos games, but if you don't, maybe give it another go next year. It"s just sport, and despite what you say, with the right choices and a bit of luck fortunes (especially at a club like Leeds) can turn around very quickly.

I’m going to go if I can, we may get spanked again but I am hoping for some kind of response back at HQ. We’ll see.
The selection for this one is very very tough. Even some of our reserves are busted. I suspect we will go with strongest side (including Walters); RS and the club are under huge pressure to at least compete so we will be putting out the best side we can muster.
I would play a couple of reserve/academy players for this don’t get me wrong, but if those young lads get mullered and then booed by the fickle fans I can’t see that’s massively developmental for them. RS has some headaches for sure.

Wether that makes a difference is anyones guess.
If we get spanked by Cas he could lose his job - he will be taking this game seriously for a bunch of reasons.
Realistically this is a patched up side we are fielding with most of our pivots missing or out of form. I would be picking a side with good skill level at least because errors have been killing us at times this season. So no Awfulpherts for one.

Interesting you say that Jim, do you think so ? I tend to agree when i think about it... it could be very very difficult for RS to survive another bad loss regardless of looking long term or not. You have to pay some serious attention to the here and now as well as looking long term.
