Will maher was at the Widnes home game , he was sat with maizen and woodburn hall , they’d been doing some presentation stuff regarding the 1895 cup and were dressed all in black. Maher and Oakley were recalled from there loan spells , pretty sure Forster wasn’t.

Did Mick Nanyn ever play for us ? think he signed a 2 yearer and was never fit.

Speaking of Oakley i have just watched the league one playoff game between Oldham and North wales on the sportsman youtube channel. And Cole was playing for the Crusaders, he had a solid game playing left side second row and they won so will be playing Hunslet for a place in there grand final.

Maher was at the Toulouse game with Pickers and Kyle Wood and he still had a Panthers top on, at least for now.

I seem to remember him playing 1 or 2 games but then doing something like his ACL or MCL. Could have been a great signing for us given his record in the Championship but like so many we have brought in over the years never lived up to the billing.

If he did play it could only have been a preseason friendly.

Welsh lad I think although I might have him mixed up with someone else but think he got in to coaching and there was an interesting article about him as he had some struggles. I will add it if I can find it.
Edit: maybe it were someone else as I can't seem to find the article online.

I can even remember his photo in the Courier, ...... smiling as he was signing the contract! Can't remember if he actually played, but there was much flag waving and drum beating as we beat some rival big clubs for his signature.
Mark Roberts cost us £20k from Warrington but injury meant he never (or hardly) played, and shortly after signing Alan Maskill from York (I think) he tragically died in a car accident.
