Unfair IMHO; as others have mentioned, he pretty much carried our pack after Watts’ departure, and paid the price in injuries as a result, meaning he seemed fundamentally broken for some time.
At the beginning of this season I believed it should be his last purely for that reason, although he has managed to put it back together and as a result exit from playing on a comparative high, with many of us saying he deserves another year.
The fact he doesn’t want to do that suggests that he knows it’s time, and I’m happy for Scott Taylor that it ends with him clearly contributing at SL level, rather than at the end of an injury-ravaged spell.
