I was heartened to read that Chambers interview. Well, that part of it anyway. His love of dudson disturbed me somewhat!

So we have announced a new centre and according to Abe we are looking for 2 think the other one mentioned was Harper. Well reading that he is behind others, my question is how far behind does he have to be, a lot have called for a long time for Mata’utia to be dropped I think the fact that Ratchford is a good goal kicker keeps him in at centre. So King, Tai Wrench and one other how much further does that push Wrench down, he should be getting chances now.

Further down he talks about Dudson.

Read that and was thinking rather have Fitzpatrick for Director of Rugby.

Chambers talks sense for me. Knows his rugby, has really been into youth rugby & knows what "fans" think. Sees so much more than we do. I'm glad he's i/c. There are always going to be selection calls that individuals disagree with but you have to get over that.

Good old "he's a proffessional and trains hard".........super duper, doesn't mean he's a good player that we actually need.

I read it that that was Chamber’s view as well ie code for I don’t rate him as a player but it would be very unprofessional of me to say so.

Just my opinions unless it's a FACT, in which case it's a fact.

Always have to take every coach's words with a pinch of salt. The only way to work out what they really are thinking is to look at who they pick. Wrench might get picked in the future but at the moment he is down the pecking order.

I think Chambers talks a lot of sense about Wrench. He’s a fantastic long term prospect and they’re trying to do the right thing to ensure he fulfils that potential.

In terms of Dudson, the interviewer should follow up and ask whether fewer than 30m per match is acceptable for a prop forward.

Chambers has aways been pretty vocal about NOT playing young players too early. In his view it leaves them open to injury and harming their development as they are not physically ready. He’s even suggesting there that Wrench’s ACL was due to him playing too much SL at a young age.

I think justt because Chambers was head of youth people expect him to play younger players more often - I’m not sure that’s going to be the case. Barring some players like Nicholson & Green who look physically ready at 18 / 19, we’re going to see young players game time very managed.
