Imagine having Litten and Hodgson battling it out for the next 10 years.

Hasn't he got dodgy shoulders

One thing we all agree on is our pack just isn't big enough. Missing Taylor and Sao only compounded that yesterday. Smith has addressed that by signing 4 big lads for next year. Swift will be a massive loss gutted he's going. Evans not a miss at all and Griffin badly missed to. On that front am not aware that anybody on here knows the full story behind his move to Wakefield and we have to back Smiths judgement on this. He was brought in to turn the culture round. He alluded that sometimes we won't be happy with some decisions. Let the bloke get on with his job IMO that's exactly what he's doing.

Agree. Lets wait until the recruitment is completed before we start moaning.

Yes he had a good season but wasn’t there an attitude problem that was impacting on the squad.

Worrying times but just need to keep faith with TS - his biggest challenge was always changing the culture, we have seen massive strides with a squad that had failed abjectly in recent seasons. Salary cap was all over the place as we all know. The last 2 seasons we won 8 & 11 games - this year we already have 10 with 4 to go, so improvement has already happened.
Have no issue with any of those moved on, time to judge next seasons recruitment is this time next year.
Both of the NRL forwards announced are regular NRL starters, which NONE of our recent crop have been, Satae had barely played, Ligi & Carlos limited appearances & Dre spent more time injured than on the field. These are younger & hopefully more physically robust. Wonder what the delay is in announcing Pele ? Maybe Visa issues ?

Apparently the issue in Aus is that all the clubs have tied up their talent to long term deals so there is very little movement there, particularly in the halves positions.
Doubt the likes of Connor Watson will need to come to Europe, think we are fishing in an ever depleting & over expensive pond - for me a Flanagan/Milford unloved type player is our best chance - but again they have to pass the TS 'culture' & attitude test, we cant risk another Josh Reynolds.
Domestically McMeeken & Jez Litten would be great for us, would also need Danny going round once more.
Tag interesting, much better this year but if all fit & firing will he get much game time ? Will he block development opportunities ? Tough calls all round !!

Ashworth must've really tried in training this week. Watson has selected him to start

Hopefully everything will look rosier once we have a clearer picture of recruitment.

Could always kiss and make up and resign him cheap for a season when Wakefield are relegated

Dont need to be looking in the NRL for a full back and waste a quota spot
Jack Walker is a class full back we should be in for him like a shot and its likely Wakefield will be relegated so Max Jowitt should also be in our sights
need to be really pro active now otherwise 2024 season will be another 2023
