He (the first mentioned - not Bongser, Paul the KR buff) is a big RL fan, watches lots of amateur/reserve games and has tagged alonga-Bongsa to LSV on a number of occasions. He regularly holidays in war zones. Recent jollies include ones in Syria and Iraq.
BUT he cancelled a trip to Eastern Ukraine when a certain Special Military Operation was loosed by Mad Vlad and,
to the ribbing of numerous Salford fans, two Leigh fans, a Wigan fan and a Rochdale fan (it's a pub by Salford Central railway station) he has decided to duck Wembley.
Bongser takes this and MR's previous post as a positive sign that he will have paid to see what he craves to see.
Enjoy the day, those more hopeful than Paul
I’ll be there, although whether I’ll see what I crave is a different matter.
Was Paul there in 2015? If so, I don’t blame him. Speaking personally, that has cast a long shadow. I genuinely wouldn’t wish it on a Hull FC fan. It went beyond jesting.
I couldn’t have faced it if it had been Saints, tbh. At least with it being Leigh, I’m guaranteed to witness something rare and special in the modern era of RL. And we’re not just rocking up in the Washington Generals role. It
might be painful… but it might not.
The Leeds fans sitting near me were great in 2015. I almost felt sorry for
them - like you would for an undertaker who has to meet clients just after discovering they (the undertaker not the clients) have won five grand on the lottery.
I’ll be overjoyed if Rovers win. As long they do enough to cleanse my palate of 2015, it’ll be a good day. If not, then if Wembley doesn’t get sucked into the pit of hell where we all have to watch Saints and Wigan contest every major final for eternity, that’ll be something.
I hope you have a good day, whatever the result.
