It was strongly rumoured we were offering him out to other clubs at the end of last season. Everyone deserves another chance and he’s clearly got some quality. A lot of our tries came off the back of him earlier on in the season but the downsides outweigh it for me and I think he needs to go.

Sadly another one who fails to live up to his potential

Bull Mania wrote:Just on the biting incident, watching the highlights on you tube, the referee certainly doesn't see Taufua bite the Barrow player as he claimed on the TV. His exact words were "I've seen him bite him me, I have" but watching the Bulls highlights where you can see the ref for the whole incident, he doesn't react until the Barrow player comes running up to him making the claim. It's a good 5 seconds after the incident.

He's effectively given a red card without seeing the incident "despite claiming to" and has gone on nothing more than an allegeded bite mark on an arm.

I genuinely don't know if he's bitten him, maybe the mark is clear, but the ref saying "I've seen him bite him me" when he clearly doesn't. Just doesn't sit right with me that incident.

100% agree with this and was going to post something similar myself. The ref actually shouts "MOVE" after the player claiming the bite pulls away which strongly suggests that he didn't in fact see "the bite" at all.

Taufua makes no head movement towards the arm which suggests that the tackler must have had his arm wrapped around the head... penalty to us?

This will go against us again just as the GFS vs Bussey incident... no evidence of proof via the footage so they will go with the complainant as he seems a nice honest guy.

Don't think i'm biased...
...i'm just very narrow minded!!!!!!!

Always thought RL was a 13 man game. Patton didn't play well but still set up chances that should have been taken in the s/half. A few others could do with his passion - misplaced at times maybe.

Think I must have been watching someone disguised as Patton. The one I saw made aimless crossfield runs and offloaded the ball about 3m in front of the defence. He also seemed to give away penalties for fun.

Sounds like we're going to be fighting the biting charge.

Sadly, if he gets found not guilty it almost brings into question the refs integrity (I personally don't think he's deliberately lied, think it's just a case of a young ref being caught in the headlights and panicking) I just can't see the RFL doing anything other than backing the ref despite the evidence clearly contradicting his version of "I've seen him bite him"

It was a strange call from the official. When the tackle was completed he didn't blow the whistle and stop the game until the Barrow player made the complaint. If he has seen the incident the game should be stopped immediately and a sanction given out to the guilty player.

If we appeal/plead not guilty and still lose a bigger ban will be handed out. At least we have DFJ waiting in the wings.

As I see it the player put his forearm onto the mouth of Taufua. If this is right it would be hard not to have a teeth mark on his arm. Should the Barrow player not have had his arm there in the first place?

Is it not exactly the same as the Mcgillvary one? If you ram your arm into someone's mush you might get teeth marks.
