Yes they might have a great season and then leave but we've had the benefit of that, or they could have a great season and decide to stay. I think with Clifford we were just unfortunate that the club that came in for him was his hometown club and he probably feels there's unfinished business there as well as being back home.
If the difference of not having the clause means we'd miss out on a young quality player then I'd rather the club go with the clause, at least the club are being sensible and are aware of the possibility and the risk that poses.
At the end of it if a player signs a 3 year deal but wants to leave after a year its very rare a club makes them stick it out in all honesty, at least the clause gives us a chance of signing players that we probably couldn't without it.
As long as the clause is that they can only go after seeing out the season like Clifford is doing and not going with immediate effect then I can't really see it being too bad a thing as much as I'm not a fan,
As long as Clifford puts a shift in because he has been underpar since the announcement was made. That said just wonder if he nursing a leg injury as Sutcliffe has taken over goal kicking duties. Sutcliffe not playing Sunday so lets seem if Clifford resumes goal kicking
Bit of a conspiracy theory here, but does anybody else find it odd that a pretty reliable journalist in John Davidson breaks news that a deal for a player is nearly done, yet there has not even been a single mention from HDM? With Dan being a big Hull fan himself, would it be possible they are helping the club keep a lid on the transfer front? I find it quite interesting when you consider in most cases it works the other way.

The problem in our game is lack of money from top to bottom. In my opinion we have enough potential young players in this country to match the NRL but there is just not enough money in the game to entice and develop young players into Rugby League. Until that happens the gap between S/L and the NRL will get larger The game here needs Superstars with a high profile that kids can relate to and follow. More terrestrial TV coverage at prime times to counter dwindling SKY revenue and get rid of the think tank IMG as its a total waste of money. Any media agency that takes away promotion and relegation to be replace by stats is deluded as it offers nothing to the game or any club outside of the S/L Would help a lot if the Aussie dollar collapses and pound gets stronger

Not so sure tbh. They've/Dan has mentioned Blore, Watson, Clune, Tindall, Ashworth and now Pele.
I've spoken to him a few times. They don't want to be throwing names out there for the sake of it. That's what this forums for
Liking this signing, definatley bringing the size and go forward we need, hope nobody starts picking negatives with his minutes played too as he plays alot more minutes for the ressies.
Very promising first quota spot signing ....keep em coming.
The nrl clause is a huge motivation for players like Pele, and if thats the only way we entice prospects like him than who cares , thats the climate we have to adjust too. If he goes back hes ripped it up for us and we sign the next one
