I suspect I will be castigated by Featherstone fans but can you imagine any other professional sport where a town with a population of 11,000 is in the top tier?
Just my opinions unless it's a FACT, in which case it's a fact.

Kudos to Austin for sticking it out over here in the UK, just goes to show that not all Aussies get homesick and that it can work out bringing their families with them

Can't imagine he'd get anything like the money he's earned in the UK back in Australia?

Maybe so but presumably that applies to everyone that comes over here, other than those wanting to put themselves in the shop window with first team competitive exposure as they are not coming for the weather?

Pretty much. But I was just replying to the post which seemed to insinuate Austin had stayed in the UK, when he could have gone back to Oz on similar money, but stayed here for the love of it.
It's pretty obvious he's here to make his money, as its the best he can get (and very good luck to him too).

And without getting into a tangle about it, plenty have come over on that same basis and then sulked until they managed to work their passage home (so to speak).
BTW I agree good luck to him, overall glad he came, glad he left and pleased he stuck at it without any drama

I didn't insinuate anything of the sort. Every Ozzie seems to come for the money rather than the lifestyle, and certainly when they come to Warrington they don't all stick with it, so I was just pointing out that he & his family deserve kudos for sticking at it.....I never mentioned similar money in Oz at all.

Hoffenheim in Germany has a population of fewer than 3,200. They've been Bundesliga regulars for the last 15 years.
