Really strange that he's gone for this deal, guess the money must be outstanding as the reason he left saints was to take his family back home.


That was the main reason why I thought he would not come back.

Whatever he said the reason was it was clearly to be head coach in NRL. Even Saints fans accepted that at the time although they did question if he had chosen the right team.

There has been a hint of criticism towards Simon Moran And Stuart Middleton recently. I suppose we have all been looking for reasons as to how we have ended up with the worst form for 20 years. If the money to get Holbrook over here that has been mentioned is anywhere near true then fair play to them.
Yep, it is their train set and they can play with it how they want but that is a significant investment.

Good luck to him. Might need to wash my mouth out but even when was at saints I thought he looked like a decent bloke. Just hope it works out because this club has been a bit of a coaches graveyard for decent blokes. It is only the last 2/3 years that Tony Smith has got over his "Falling our of love with the game" after his spell here

If we have pulled off this bit of recruitment it is unbelievably quick & decisive. Our management team couldn't really have done better. Let's hope it's a goer!

In reality, the way things were going with Powell, it was inevitable that he wouldn`t see this season out.

We would have been in talks with Holbrook for a while.
