Be great to have something positive from the club.

There's a sale on replica shirts according to my emails, that's something I guess...

NRL is cut throat and they won’t keep him if he doesn’t impress. Got to say it’s either ambitious or a bit stupid on his part, unless we were merely a 1 year stop gap for him all along?

Yeh, disappointing.

Think he wants another crack at his first and obviously feels he good enough to challenge for a starting spot.

Think the family thing is the biggest thing though.

It's a risk, but based on his form thos season, he would easily get a big SL contract in 2025 if things don't work out for him.

Looking at the Clifford situation he may well feel he is a better and more mature player for the experience of coming to SL and doing what he has done at Hull in terms of leading the team. He no doubt wants another shot at cracking the NRL and feels he can, I certainly don't blame him for that as its something he may regret not doing especially as its only a one year deal, he's obviously backing himself.

I also think family & being back home has been a big factor too in his decision.

I think its fair to suggest that even after a year if it hasn't worked out for him in the NRL he would certainly get a place in the SL as a fall back if needed.

Question is does this have any impact on the replacement of Clifford ie do we look at a replacing him with a player on a longer term deal or do we look at bringing a player in for 2024 with a view to seeing if Clifford would be an option for 2025?

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

Can't afford to wait around and hope Clifford doesn't work out. The latest decision has probably already cost us Clune, as we probably entered the race late for him, when other clubs were already in the process.

Apparently Paul Cooke said on Talksport at the weekend that we have 4 players signed for next season, so far, he knows who they are and could've named them but more than likely be out of a job if he did, also said FC fans don't need to panic with the lack of signings

'The club will be making announcements on a number of new signings over the coming weeks.'

From the clubs press release on Clifford.

Didn’t mean about waiting around as such to replace Clifford more wondering if it would alter the view in terms of how they approach replacing him? Given there isn’t much choice in the current market of replacements.
As you’d think the club would hopefully have discussed the situation if he was to return to SL.

I know it’s a a bit regurgitated but doesn’t seem like it isn’t/wouldn’t be an option of him returning here
