Middleton basically says Powell was responsible for bad recruitment and had the final say. I’m sorry Stuart but what about Inglis, Latu, Roberts, Burrell, Tasi, England etc.

Nothing particularly surprising here really. There’s a lot of truth here, the coach is responsible for the under-performance of the players, which is fair given the final call on the recruitment of players and assembled this team.
On Fitzpatrick, he’s almost agreeing with the vast majority on here in that he has skills in certain areas. We have sighted social media as a particular strength, but Middleton goes deeper into it by explaining his relationships with stakeholders and sponsors. All important parts of the CEO. There is still the yawning gap in the Director of Rugby role in my opinion.
I’m sure Powell would sight flaws in the club, likely to be Fitzpatrick and the board through to the resilience of the fanbase.

Not doubting the numbers, but when things aren’t going well it’s not a nice place to be. Don’t get me wrong, there has been sufficient justification for the boo’s and hostility over the past 18 months, but that atmosphere doesn’t affect positive change, probably makes people more risk averse too. The counter of that is that support is earned, and it hasn’t been recently.
