Wigan Thrash Leigh to Move Second
A seemingly unstoppable Leigh Leopards side fresh from their cup victory over St Helens last weekend travelled the short distance to the DW Stadium to take on a Wigan Warriors side still smarting from their own cup exit at the hands of Hull KR.

A win for the home side would lift them level on points with their opponents but victory for Leigh would lift the, level with the Catalans Dragons in top place going into the final quarter of the season.

Wigan were the favourites with the bookies with the Leopards having been given an eight point start on the coupon, the Leopards underdogs to overcome a 40 year Wigan drought.

Alright. Bongser will start the ball rolling on this.

Firstly thought Channel 4 were not allowed to show such things before the 9pm "Watershed" - and then only when displaying a red triangle in the corner of the screen!

Leigh were truly awful today, especially in the second half. Bongser has had some hangovers in his time, but BOY was that a stinker. He allows a sub-par performance; all teams have them. We move on to Headingley and hope for an improvement at said "wedding rehearsal".

Seem to remember Cokey asking if anyone could find any positives after our Round Two loss to Fev last season. Here's a pozza from today: we finished two points closer at Wigan than we did to Wigan at LSV in late March. Take away some of the score chasing loose passes (that had no place outside of Dignitas) and therefore the interception scores and it isn't TOO bad.

That was Bongser's best shot, Cokey.

Ok, following on the lead from Bongser, nope I can't find anything positive. The left edge has been decimated by the loss of Ricky Leutele, for everyone who thought it was Ipape to Asiata to Lam to O'Brien with an assortment of finishers mostly Charnley. Ricky posses such a threat that the defence needs to keep 2 men posted on our star centre. Lammy knows that Chamberlain does not pose an attacking threat in the centre and Chezzy has moved quickly to fill the gap with Gildart.

Positives Ipape and O'Donnell to come back.

Negatives Leigh struggle to break down teams who get off the line quickly and bunch the centre. Wigan and Saints both deploy the same tactic but Wigan are more mobile. Thankfully Leeds are far less concerned about winning the Centre and often deploy only 2 in the tackle. Leigh need to replace Ricky and get Edwin and Kai back in the team then we can put the Wigan game behind us.

Thankfully Hull KR beat Wigan to the Challenge Cup, because I am not sure we know how to beat the Pies.
