Gave up on Owen Jones a long time ago.
Far too middle-of-the-road for my liking.

Funny you should say that.
Other posters have mentioned similar to her.

That is more than generous it's actually a comment of a rugby league fan.

Rovers were indeed sensational against a Wigan team stretching every sinew and more.

Leigh have overcome every obstacle so far and will rightly be confident but I believe this Rovers team will bring home the trophy.

It's been almost 30 years, I think we're good.

I recently read a very good book called 4,000 Weeks. It's about the typical lifespan, embracing our own mortality, doing away with the "I'll be happy when..." mindset, that sort of thing. On that basis I might have 1200 weeks left, and based on government stats probably only 500 of those in good health. Rather than spend that time stewing over whether Hull KR win a cup after 40-odd years, which I have no influence over, maybe better to magnanimously wish them well and get on with other things. :DAISY:

But they also have fans for whom winning would be meaningful, and while refereeing decisions might go against us they won’t go against us because it is Leigh. Better them than Saints.

If we were to win it’d maybe be a tiny bit sweeter against Saints. But at that point, what difference? Losing to Leigh feels like a much more tolerable prospect. I just hope the Rovers team is able to put in another creditable performance. I mean, I also hope they win but if the fates give me enough to make peace with 2015 I’ll be happy.

If you're looking for positive omens MR, here's one for you to ponder, which crossed my mind late last night.

You're about to play a CC final against a team who only twelve months ago were a second division outfit, a team who have surprised everyone with their performances this year.

Your only previous winning cup final came against a team who only twelve months previous had been a second division outfit! A team who surprised all, ourselves included, by finishing third and reaching Wembley after a gap of twenty years of going nowhere!

I know what it's like in these situations, looking for positives everywhere to convince yourself this could really be your year. I've been there too!! It should be a more even contest this time than 2015, a 50/50 shot for both sides.

I've been on the internet and have already got a sense of the fans' passion for the club. They are very fanatical - Peter Gentle 12th September 2011.

Money doesn't talk it swears, Obscenity who really cares, Propaganda all is phony.

I'm the son and heir of a shyness which is criminally vulgar.

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way.

I found it quite surprising that Lewis didn't go off with a HIA after the red card incident, if the direct contact to the head was enough for him to stay down then he should rightly go off for a check.

What makes this more surprising is that it was only a couple weeks ago I had heard Rovers were unhappy that certain clubs were not being honest regarding HIA's. I don't know what was meant by this (reporting false results, perhaps) but it would be quite a strange thing for the person who mentioned it to me to make up. Should maybe practice what they have been preaching, especially considering the player had only just returned from a head knock, with another being forced to retire off the back of them.

As I said well done rovers. Great win for them. Red card was harse maybe a yellow. It's the inconsistent decision by the refs which annoy me on this. One week red another yellow another just a warning. When wigan where 6 up it was obvious a one pointer was needed. But credit to rovers who dug deep. Of course am not gonna lie I will be rooting for Leigh but nice to have 2 new teams in the final.

I wouldn't lose sleep if they didn't win but I'll be rooting for my mates on the day.

Absolutely no chance hopefully they get battered like 2015

Terrible decision to give a red card for that tackle.Even a yellow card would have been harsh
The fact that Lewis didnt have to come off for an HIA says it all because if he had have been hit he would have had to come off and probably not return.
The player wraps his arms round Lewis and looks like its the top of his arm not shoulder thats high but it would be when you consider the players height difference.
i dont even think it hit his head.
Whats the normal ban for a deliberate head high tackle?
I think its a lot more than 1 match.
The disciplinary panel have once again shown they are not fit for purpose.
The ban is just support for the referee. Can you imagine the uproar if they ruled no case to answer
