When was our last GF win again?
When was anyone's last win, apart from Saints? As it happens we were the last ones to win it prior to them starting their run. Only us and Saints have won it in the last 5 years.

That’ll be Asiata who a couple of you on here are suggesting you snatch off us Have to say read a few threads elsewhere about him getting a long ban but after watching it again a couple of times it seems unfortunate rather than intentional - would be a massive loss for us if anything comes of it

Lenagan's leaving. The dark days are nearly over.
Maybe Danson will bring in Lam.
So do you actually think a single CC win in 5 years is acceptable for a club like ours? The last half a decade has hardly been a golden period for the club has it.
Not sure why so many fans get so bum hurt over people pointing out obvious things?

Yea he’s a cracking player. I do think he’ll get a ban for that. No matter who the player is I don’t think they go in to a tackle to injure someone. I do however think he was reckless and that still should get punished, like the Knowles and Cooper tackle. It ends his season, I think that does get taken in to account. People mentioned the same happening to Walmsley I didn’t see that one but he did look in pain
It’s tough to really give a concrete answer on the Asiata tackles and if they’re worthy of a ban. He was tackling like a man possessed, at an important stage in the game and they happen that quickly, you don’t really notice them at full speed but when they’re slowed down, they could well be judged as reckless. I don’t think he’s aiming to hurt players but smashing shoulders and heads, directly in to the knee of an opponent does look out of control. To me they’ll have to decide how much intent was there or if they think it’s purely accidental. I think they’ll end up taking the easy option of giving him a couple of games and fee him up for the final.

Not when you consider our youth production line and the fact we spend the salary cap.

Probably not, but this hasn't been what you could call a 'normal' 5 years. We had a season where we played when it was an uneven contest and we played more games than anyone else. We also had the Edwards fiasco and Lam coming in as a caretaker coach which, in all fairness both to him and the team, is never ideal. We also lost both our star players in one of those seasons so would be unlikely to be at our best. It has also coincided with a dominant Saints team that now seems to be coming to the end of its tenure. Nevertheless we won a Challenge Cup, LLS and were 1 kick from winning a Grand Final which we ultimately lost to a freak bounce off the sticks. We were also the last to win the Trophy other than Saints.
Let's see what happens over the next few years. The sport, as all sports, is cyclical. The challenge is to be the team that replaces Saints. That would be a fairer way to judge as there will always be periods where a team other than Wigan are dominant. Neither Wigan, nor any other team in world sport, will always be on top. As a period where we weren't you could argue that we were still in 2nd. Compare that to Warrington or Leeds etc and the picture is still quite good. If we only fall to 2nd spot during our 'lull' periods I, for one, will consider that a result!
