As stated earlier they are setting where they want us in the market.

At least Dick Turpin wore a mask

Didn’t do him any good got hanged eventually. Sky will get hung out to dry if the BT offer is a lot better.

On Wednesday, there was literally no live sport on the SKY channels - Sky Sports News was on Main Event. That shows that if you undervalue sports, they will find alternate broadcasting deals. It's a joke really, as SL still rates highly for SKY in terms of viewing figures, yet the invest more in sports further down the viewing figures.

That is poor management from the RFL in my opinion, they undersell the sport constantly

Literally nothing other than the Women's Ashes.

If Sky had any interest at all in RL they could have shown a rerun of the State of Origin.....a dead rubber maybe, but a real opportunity to attract the channel surfing sports fan to RL in the evening

I don't know if they don't have the rights to full re-runs as they only ever show highlights. NRL games are available on NOW TV for streaming for a week, but Origin isn't.

Thanks for sharing this article and the previous one. This second story is a rehash/repeat of the first one, but with a little more on Viaplay, who have made an alleged reported large loss to justify their doom and gloom headline.

I don't think that Viaplay's investment would be anything close to Sky's, but it would sad to lose the only broadcaster for the Championship. It will be interesting to see what BT Sport offer to our game in both what they'll broadcast, and how they'll pay the RFL for doing so, and also the cost and availability to us the consumers.
