To be fair to UptonFax some have been wanting him to go for the last 3 years

I don't think anyone hates Simon Grix, some people have vivid imaginations. Wanting a change of coach is very different to giving out abuse. I personally think this whole scenario has come to a logical end where all parties come out of it satisfactory. SG gets himself into SL, Fax get a new coach which if Simon wasn't a well liked local lad would possibly have happened earlier and the board will have no compensation to pay. On that note if he has negotiated a deal with Hull are Fax due compensation? Three to four years is about the norm for coaching positions and this news will give us time to appoint a new coach who will have the time to put his own input into next year's recruitment. All in all not the worst situation to find ourselves in. Plus as SG's supporters have stated, we are still in a play-off position and the very real possibility of an appearance at Wembley. Wouldn't it be great if Simon went out with a trophy, or two, on his Fax CV? Up The Fax!

I don't think its down to anyone's imagination, you need to read back through some old posts including your own - as his time was up over 2 years ago according to a number of you on here!

Agreed, hudd-shay, and I remember Tony Smith himself saying it's best for a coach to move on after 4 years (even though he spent 7 years at Warrington!).
I suppose Fax can take some pride in being a breeding ground for assistant coaches. Cannot remember the last time one of our head coaches moved on to be a head coach of another club. Maybe Mal Reilly to Newcastle Knights? Peter Roe went to Keighley. Can't remember what happened to Steve Linnane. (The rest (Marshall, Farrell, Anderson, (Murell (an interim coach remember!), Anderson, etc etc went into oblivion or assistant). Ah, just remembered Matt Calland who went to Rochdale. Where's he now?

Didn’t t Linnane go to Salford? As for S G good luck to him, I have put my pennyworth previously, and will leave it there. As for the new coach, is Liam Finn ready, I know he has done a job a Dewsbury, however with some of the fickle people on here it will only take one loss for the knives to come count again, must be like being Julius Ceaser being Fax coach with all those ‘friends’ flashing knives about.
My Humble Opinion Only - let the knockers begin.

That, as i said, is far removed from abuse or hate.

Exactly this. There are a lot of people on their high horse at the moment about this hate that Grix supposedly got slung his way but has it ever been that way or is that the narative that these people are pushing. Yes we heard a lot of people wanting a change at coach but abuse? I honestly have not heard or seen any abuse thrown his way.

Same at every sporting club, it's not just a Fax thing. Its probably more magnified because we are a smaller community so its easier for voices to be heard when we have so few fans.

I have not bought into the abuse accusations. But what I find funny is the inference from some of you that only now is the time you believe he should go when you were clamouring for this a few years back and it's as if you have been waiting for this moment since.
Let’s remember with most of this forum and roughly five people on Facebook not being the biggest fans of Grix that equates to about 15 people . The core fan base is about 1500 so that’s about 1% , it’s just that the 1% shout the loudest.
