Just a shame the atmosphere was terrible. The self titled “South Stand Barmy Army” were non existent. I get people are p*ssed at Grix but at least create a bit of an atmosphere for the players! 50 point winning margin and all we got was silence. What’s happened to that lad with the drum?

Unfortunatley I think it was always going to be the case. It was a good game for the players as they were never going to lose but for the fans its an awful going for the same reason along with the poor run of form and its hard to get people ecited for it. A last minute "fanzone" isn't going to get people through the door and with less than maybe 100-200 adults paying through the gate it will be a worry for the board. Barmy Army we can presume voted with their feet as well by the looks of it.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but this forum is down right depressing.

The club hasn't got a Beaumont, so we aren't going to be signing players like Lam, Asiata etc

Get a reality check and support the club as it is.

The thing is, nobody or at least nobody I know is expecting that. People who are complaining about the team seem to be basing it on the squad we have at the moment and the views of people who would like a new coach are that we are under performing with the talent we have available.

Maybe he’s a super league quality coach trying to coach championship level players .

I think we are pretty split at the moment as a club as to what is wrong and the best way to deal with it. And it was clear yesterday with the poor atmosphere and equally poor attendance that some people me included but i will still attend all games this season are not happy and do not appreciate any questions being made about Simons position as coach being shut down with personal insults and questioning our knowledge of rugby league. We all care about this club and want what is best for it so for me whatever your opinion is you are as much as me entitled to it. And before anyone says something about the abuse aimed at Simon i do not condone that at all and will call it out when i hear it.

For me those people on the Facebook site who try to bully anyone who has the opinion that we need a new coach are far worse than those that are expressing an opinion which they are more than welcome to do. People using beating Newcastle to try and make a point of how good we are and how wrong everyone who has been saying Grix out is was kind of funny in an ironic way. Ive said many times that I would love to see Grix suceed but the fact is that this year we have gone backwards and we have a team looking beaten down and devoid of confidence and that usually comes from the top and with the views Grix has expressed in public its pretty easy to see why.

I posted elsewhere that I can see us finishing 7th with our run in and can't see us winning more than 4 from our last 8 games and I wonder if people are happy with that as we have obviously out performed our budget like anyone who says anything bad is told. So a pretty good season going from 3rd to 7th? Maybe, just maybe, a win next week could save the season and in reality will ease Grix's position a bit. I can see us winning because I know there is a very good team in there and on their day they are a match for anyone in the league hence my prediction of 2nd/3rd this season but to me it is a team who does not want to play for the coach, all the signs are there and my opinion is that if anyone can't see that then maybe you are lacking experience of team sports.

I did laugh reading that but honestly there is a chance that you are right and we only have this job to judge him on but.....I still think we are under performing so maybe his methods are not working with championship players and he needs to adapt, afterall its easier for 1 coach to adapt than it is for 20 odd players.

I found the game at the weekend particularly poor and the atmosphere reflected that. We weren't great in the first half until that burst just before half time when we picked up a fair few points, We then conceded 12 points fairly quickly in the second half but I don't think the result was ever in doubt, Newcastle are poor and we scored 50 without getting out of second gear.

I've said to others, if we win on Saturday, the mood around the club will shift quickly. A 1895 Cup win would make our season look reasonable as people will forget the poor league campaign. But it's going to take a huge effort for that to happen currently.

I think Grixs’ weaknesses are recruitment and possibly man management but not coaching

As long as the entrance fees are as high as there are, I cannot see much improvement tbh. I suppose 4 pints and a burger for less in wetherspoons is more of an attraction, especially in the rain. Not just a Fax problem, of course, with rivals London and Sheffield recently getting barely 1,000 (with far greater catchment areas I may add!).

One gets the feeling Haven is only the tip of the iceberg. Doesn't help when the likes of Leigh literally trash the championship last season playing super league players, all the other teams might as well have packed in saving time and money, twas impossible to compete. There should be a salary cap to prevent such farces. And we all need to do a Batley and reduce the admin to a tenner. Permanently. Which will unfortunately mean reducing player contracts accordingly. We all seem to be sleep walking into oblivion. Rant over!

AM I RIGHT? I'M NOT WRONG!
