Who’s crowther? someone Wakefield don’t want, another minikin or Holmes or the great matotia wow!!! these are the players that come to wire how far have we dropped!!!
He's a good lad and a workhorse. Chris Chester was shouting him out for international duty a few years back. He'll put 30+ tackles in and never give up. He's a reasonable squad player for a Super League side. A tad bizarre to be signing for you now when he's rumoured to have signed with Castleford for next season already, you'd think he'd go there given they're also looking for players for this season and it's down the road rather than 90 minutes down the 62. He's not going to improve you massively, but might aid with Nicholson's development and enable you to not move players around to cover injuries.

Why would Wakey release a player to Castleford? That would be counterproductive for them surely.

Perhaps he's hoping a few weeks at a top club will give him a nudge towards international honours.

He's out of contract at the end of 2023 - presumably Cas have offered him more than Wakey for next season so he's off. The real question is why are Wakey allowing him to leave early; according to a rival forum they see playing him as a potential conflict of interests. If that's true -what has our game come to?

Wakey are balancing their salary cap with players coming in, from their side better to get Griffin in now and release a player that has already signed elsewhere for 2024. My point really was that Wakey won’t release Crowther specifically to Cas as it will strengthen them. Better to release him elsewhere

But they wouldn't want to release him to us too soon and possibly strengthen us, seeing as we play them next?
And so you aim towards the sky, And you'll rise high today, Fly away, Far away, Far from pain....
