I'm a Johnson fan, and I know he's played in the halves for us before, but to be honest I've never thought he played well there. I hope he does great if he gets the nod tomorrow, but just not seen it from him yet.

And if the game is tight at half time, we just waste a bench spot as its daft to change your fb in the game especially when the games tight. Other than leeds being 20+ up I don't see a scenario where you'd be comfortable making that change. Either start him or don't bother.
Put it this way, if we're level or close at ht with myler fb and CJ or Smith in the halves and he moved everything round to bring Hooley on in a game we need to win I'd be scratching my head. We don't have the comfort on the table to be experimenting.
I’d normally agree that it’s a waste having a back on the bench, especially when we’ve got second rowers like Martin and McDonnel who could do a reasonable job covering centre if needed. This week though we’re missing 2 halfbacks in Austin and Sinfield so if we lose another during the game then Myler comes into contention as halfback cover. Good to have a specialist FB to cover Myler if necessary.

In that case Roberts would be the more versatile option.

Regardless of who does play in the spine we won't have the edge there, and even if Austin were fit we'd probably struggle to match them. Our pack looks, and should be, stronger than theirs so the recipe for success is to start fast and play tough in what looks like being wet conditions.
I expect it will be Roberts into centre. Martin to back row. Smith at 6. Johnson on the bench.
I'm OK with that. Keep giving Corey 20-30 mins in his normal position so he can develop properly. But it does mean 2 things. 1 - Smith realises that Handley is not a FB 2 - Hooley has no future at the club
