Personally I'd never boycott a game like Batley, but I heard people on the unfull coach yesterday saying they weren't bothering and with even GFB in the same mindframe,it tell's it's own story...

I hate to say it but at the moment its a lot of outlay to watch a group of players dish up the same thing over and over. I watched every game in 2003 but understood where the club was at that point but this just feels different.

I was on the coach and never heard that , who was that ?
Would be quite unwise to get rid at this point of the season. Not much comfort but York limped into the playoffs last year and look what happened. We need a settled team and this is what I get irritated with. Bringing in Fanoua makes no sense whatsoever and this is what is concerning. McComb playing second row is just crazy. Hate to think we rely on one player but if Keyes does come back in the next few weeks, my money is on us to start turning the corner. The fact is there isn't anything between us, Batley, Bulls - I think Sheffield will fall away and still think the jury is out on Toulouse away from home. If we manage to beat Batley, it should be the catalyst but all ifs and buts. I think Grix is a talented coach, but he has shown some naivety with selection and who would you bring in anyway?

It pains me to say it, but after 4 years at the helm Grix hasn't taken Fax any further forward, if anything we're gradually going backwards.
I was quite enthused at the start of the season with 4 major signings in Maher, Doro, King and Maizen but apart from a couple of good performances from Doro, these signings have proved disappointing. And we've added 2 more very good players in O'Brien and Lannon but alas still no progress.
Yep, I think Grix has taken us as far as he is able, so time now for a fresh face with fresh ideas.
We are clearly a divided fan base when it comes to Grix. Something as to change because it is the same problems in our game time and again that are holding us back and if not the coach then what is the answer. I do not like just hearing the same thing being said by the players and coach after each game and nothing changing. I have given a few potential coaching options on the match tread from the York game and for me this would be the best way to go.

Most of the people around me seemed to accept that it wasn’t necessarily grixs’ fault although the team selection was perhaps a bit strange and had balanced views , me and the mrs’ actually enjoyed the coach ride back , we have some great fans , I think some obviously take it more seriously than others . There was one guy who relentlessly ranted about wanting Grix out to the point where I did upset him a bit and many others were sick of listening to it by the time we got back to the shay .
On a more practical level my opinion is irrelevant but do we have the funds to pay grixs’ contract out (end 2024)and sign a new coach ? The board just released a statement saying the directors had to use their own cash to subsidise the club and pay off legacy debt. They did mention more people added to the infrastructure and I do think Simon needs some help with recruitment and possibly a more experienced assistant coach, I’m hoping they go down this road for now .
