For as good as Shaul was last week I think it is best to keep giving Litten every opportunity to play, he is the future of the club. I thought McNamara did okay when he came on, again, he is going to be here long-term unlike Dwyer so would give him a run out off the bench.

He'll be a big miss though, been playing really well and he directs the team superbly. I can't see us winning, although Leigh nearly pulled it off last time around in France, so maybe with home advantage we can sneak it, but they have a fearsome pack and will want to dominate the middle. A shame Taylor isn't fit, he would be perfect for this type of grunt.

I don't think it's solely down to the coach, much like us in the last couple of seasons some of the players seem to have downed tools after the Mcguire incident and Powell has been left hung out to dry, there seems to be a split in their camp between Mcguires mates (Vaughan, Dufty etc..) and the rest.
Powell looks a busted flush. Would have been better under Price if he’d stayed there. Loved how he moaned last night about having two players missing. Big deal.
As for us, Shaul did okay last week but have a feeling he’ll play Litten. Smith seems to like what he brings.
I’d leave Ben Mc in there as well. Every club needs a utility who can play 7/9. He can be ours going forward.
Litten should 100% play. He’s an exceptional young talent who will develop with regular game time. Shaul went alright last week and really excels in the effort areas but so does Davy. One is the future and one is sadly in his twilight years.
Similarly, I don’t think Dwyer has been good enough to keep playing him. He might play slightly better than DB or BM but it won’t benefit our long term strategy
I don’t think we will win but we’re now at the point where each week I think we could no matter who we play.

Agree with Hoy not being risked then Litten has to go in at FB based on performance, the energy he brings and the future/forward plan. Shaul did went OK for a player that's seen little rugby for such a long time but Litten for me is the better option.
As for Dwyer, for me his performance just haven't been good enough and he isn't consistent enough and has taken too many wrong options or gone the wrong side because he hasn't looked and is in headless chicken mode. Again as you say he's not part of the future and for his performances don't warrant inclusion into the 17, so would rather go with a player that is part of the clubs future plans.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

Have watched the game twice in the last week and Shaul didn't look very confident under the high ball, also throw an awful forward pass to Litten (which was picked up). Made a couple of good runs, but think Litten (who also wasn't great on the wing) is a better fullback than Shaul.
