Perhaps someone could come in an ensure we have a viable half back pairing instead of loaning them out so we can't play them? Perhaps someone who will not rip into our young players in the media? Perhaps a coach that says "I take full responsibility" instead of watching the poop show unfurl before he eyes as if it's an Act of God and not remotely linked to what he does with them in the week. Chaddy used to say there are 10,080 minutes in a week, make sure you use 10,000 wisely so you can be at your best for the 80 that count. What is Powell doing in those 10,000 minutes with the players? Change can be effected quickly. Were you watching in 2009? The reason I ask is that a chap called Tony Smith came into a side that was playing junk under a coach called James Lowes. I think we won the Challenge Cup for the first time in 35 years that year. Quite a turnaround in 4 months. Shows what can be done.
Oh and here we are with your favourite use of double quotes.
Our fans are no worse or better than any others in the league. Ridiculous to suggest otherwise and to try and suggest it is somehow their fault. It seems you want these pages full of "chin up old bean, never mind old chaps, just bad luck is all, we will be better next week/next season/next signing and then we will show them scoundrels". Pressure is for the privileged. If hearing a few boos or reading a few home truths on the internet damages their delicate sensibilities then elite pro sport isn't for them. Soon as they accept money from a paying crowd they enter the cauldron. We have recently watched a side that have an embarrassment of riches play in the middle 8's against Championship sides, get stuffed in the playoffs 3 times at home, and then nearly get relegated in the last 6 seasons.
In closing, I should imagine some of those loyal "fans" (see I'm doing it now) you hold in contempt have watched more games, bought more season tickets, bought more merchandise, travelled to more away games than you could ever imagine and perhaps more than you have, and certainly I have. I'd have one of those fans for every 10 of those on Facebook and on here who seem to think everything is hunky dory and try and supress the real, honestly borne, feeling of anger and disappointment.
PS I am still neutral on Powell. Slip out of the top 6 and he can be gone for me.
