To be fair, it's a big step up and until recently I don't think he stood out for Newcastle, a few games at thar level will do him good.

Smith not overly keen on Balmforth i've been told a few times. Be surprised if he is here next season.

I do know coaching staff at both Hull clubs and like you it is my understanding Balmforth will not be on Hull Fc's books in 2024. Shame really because i do think he will become a good SL player given time.
