Lot of pessimism here. It was one of those games you should walk but the team had 6 or 7 changes to it and complacency crept in as well. Normal service was resumed at half time winning last 30 mins 28 to nil. I think it will be Leigh v Wiggin final just like FA Cup was City v United. Like I've said, it's written in the stars and nothing can stop Leigh lifting the Cup
I don’t think complacency crept in but stupidity dashed in. A simple game plan would have given a comfortable win but an arrogant, reckless ‘lets put these upstarts in their place” attitude will be punished with deserved bans.
What a terrible performance, and the resulting disciplinary panel is going to scupper the great season. Some times the players get too pumped up ie. Ben Flowers for Wigan. The skill and fitness level should have resulted with Leigh coasting in the second half, instead we have exerted more effort than needed and will probably suffer the consequences against Catalans.
Catalan away next week is now a free hit , what would have been a tough ask will be even tougher with Kai and Zak out. Hanley impressed yesterday so options there , not sure when Wardle or Hughes return. Comment above hit nail on head , far too pumped up and playing like mad men in defence. Will hopefully learn from this and for the first time in a long time we witnessed not finding touch from a penalty ! Thought those days had gone
Looked bad think you hit the nail on the head a bit too pumped up. Think the tackle just went wrong. Can't remember any disciplinary issues with him previously so hopefully they take that into consideration. With the other 3 suspensions added could be a tough few weeks. Chance for the bench players to step up and get their chance.
Not an ideal scenario for the next week or two but trying to be optimistic, Smith got some minutes in so he can back Edwin up , Hanley may have earned a shot at centre and we,ll have Ricky back, the spine is still intact which is massive for how we play , second row is an issue but Matty Davies has done good minutes lately and he,ll do fine add to that long term injuries to 1st choice second rowers at the start of the season are due back so we might not be as bad as it looked yesterday.catalan may be too much for us this week but hull kr after that could be the game that defines our season .
